Before any work can begin on your site, you need to know what is possible where you want it installed and what the expected results will be. We need to know what you require, where it will be and countless other bits of infomation, before wa can begin to quote. Thsi is why we offer a free site survey to larger installations.
Not only does this give you peace of mind that you are getting want, but allows us to predict any problems in advance, ensuring a smooth as possible installation.
UPS installation and repair
After Purchasing the UPS from us, we will handle the installation to have the system fully functional and commissioned.
Although the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units we sell are all of the utmost quality, general wear and tear will occur and increase the risk failure over time.
If any of the following sounds familiar, it could be time to get in touch and book your unit in for an inspection or possible repair.
- ‘There’s an odd burning smell’ – it could be that a battery, fuse, or circuit board is about to fail.
- ‘There’s an unusual, loud or persistent noise’ – usually a stressed component.
- ‘The unit feels very hot’ – often, the fan is about to fail or may have done so already.
- ‘The unit is bleeping constantly’ – possibly the battery needs recharging, replacing or needs the internal parameters reset.
- ‘There’s no power from the unit’ – perhaps the battery needs recharging or replacing.
- ‘The unit is dead’ – it may not be, but it certainly needs looking at!
UPS Remote Monitoring Service
It is important to ensure that not only are all these systems are working, but that they are working holistically to maintain the uptime and efficiency of your power protection equipment. UPS Systems plc can supply you with power protection infrastructure management hardware and software designed to provide a neutral monitoring platform. Using both your internal network and/or the WAN, it can be configured to provide customisable graphical displays and reports. Real time and historical data allow power, temperature, security and more to be monitored. System information can be displayed alongside more traditional asset register data for a comprehensive monitoring solution.
Genset installation and service
Once you have selected the best diesel generator to fit your needs, you will need a specialist to ensure your diesel generator installation is conducted in the most efficient and safe manner possible. That’s where we come in.
- We will conduct a site assessment to ensure the installation is in the optimal location. If you are unsure of your generator requirements we suggest the best one for your installation at this stage.
- We will ensure the diesel generator chosen is the most cost-effective without compromising on power e.g. making sure that the step-load is adequate for the task without unnecessary extra cost.
- We will also ensure that adequate and frequent service is done to keep the unit fully functional
UPS and Generator health checks and load bank testing
Not all standby power installations are mission-critical and not all require a guaranteed uptime of 24 hours a day. In these instances, some customers prefer ad-hoc service visits arranged as and when required, or when they have a problem, suspect an impending problem, or when the unit is now outside its original warranty period.
We will undertake unscheduled visits as quickly as possible and, although we will use our best endeavours, we cannot guarantee repair times. If a faulty system is causing you inconvenience and if you do not have a current maintenance contract, you may wish to consider a short-term hire.
UPS Battery Health Check
Besides testing of your UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), it’s important that you test your batteries.
They are the core of your UPS system and if there’s an unrecognised fault, it can mean your system failing when you need it most.
UPS Batteries don’t last forever and it’s common practice to replace UPS battery stocks every 3-5 years when they are usually reaching the end of their natural life. It’s entirely possible, however, for a battery to fail before then as a result of external factors like heat, frequency of use and amount of power discharged, which can lead to a ‘domino’ effect as related batteries try and pick up the strain.

Generator Maintenance – All standby generators should be serviced every 400 hours or every 6 months, whichever comes first. This ensures that your power protection equipment is always ready to protect your business, 24/7.
We provide service visits to keep your Generator in peak performance with 2 Generator Service and Generator Maintenance visits per year. No maintenance = failure !
Battery Replacement
CPower provide a FULL battery replacement service independent of the size or configuration of unit.
